The ‘Wick To Wembley’ display has opened at The National Football Museum, in Preston, and will run until August 2009. If you have never been to the museum, and you love football, then I highly recommend it. On three levels, it is free to get in and it is crammed packed with memorabilia and artefacts from all periods and covers all aspects of our beautiful game. It is also great for kids and there are numerous interactive displays; fans of all ages will find something to love about the museum.
If you are anywhere near Preston, do pay a visit; you won’t be disappointed! Details of how to get to the museum can be found on their website.

Memorabilia
memorabilia n. pl. objects kept or collected because of their associations with memorable people or events
Not satisfied with the normal memorabilia of matchday programmes from every tie on my journey to Wembley, I spent some of my son's inheritance on Cardiff City and Portsmouth FA Cup Final 2008 shirts, and framed them alongside the ticket stub and programme. Here is a photo of the end result:
My journey of course started at Chertsey Town, and as an extra bonus, my good lady wife treated me to this suitably embossed Chertsey Town shirt for my birthday:
One slight problem though; I think I need a bigger home to display both pieces of memorabilia!
